Knox Grammar School, with it’s great reputation and standing in the community, has had a close connection with the local Special Olympics program for a number of years and has become a driving force in the growth of the Special Olympics Kuringgai Chase Fun Run.
The Special Olympics Kuringgai Chase Fun Run are about showcasing great connections in our community and Knox Grammar have got behind this event from the start providing ideas, facilities and direct involvement on the organising committee.
Such is the impact of the Knox Buddies, who run or walk with our athletes, our logo stylises the “blue” Knox Buddy with an athlete, arms in the air in friendship and joy. Each year, over 150 Knox Buddies, teachers and staff volunteered for the event.
From our very first meeting the team at Ku-ring-gai Council has been incredibly supportive and encouraging in taking the Special Olympics Kuringgai Chase Fun Run from an idea to a reality – it feels like the whole KMC team is behind us!
The Ku-ring-gai Council team have made introductions, provided advice & guidance and generally helped us “make it happen”.

Transdev – every year Transdev’s support has included event posters displayed in all buses as well as providing the great shuttle bus service between Turramurra Station and Claude Cameron Grove. We could not do without Transdev.
The Ku-Ring-Gai Bush Fire Brigade is a community based Fire Service operating within the Hornsby Kuring-Gai District, Region East of the NSW Rural Fire Service. Our local ‘firies’ have provided over 20 volunteers every year to act as traffic controllers. Former brigade captain Mark Unsworth and the late Andrea Coleman were instrumental in the establishment of a safe well run event.
EPPING-EASTWOOD Lions Club – the Lions Club from Epping-Eastwood have been supporting Upper North Shore events for as long as anyone can remember so when it came to the best team to run our sausage sizzle where else would we go. Epping-Eastwood Lions Club team do a fantastic job and we are really appreciative of their support.
West Pymble Bicentennial Club has been serving the community since 1960 and has never lost its passion for outstanding customer service. We have two well maintained bowling greens, weekly bowling competitions for men & women, trivia nights, poker nights, a large area for functions/events, Kookaburra bistro, a wide range of wines and beers, and much more!
